Our Journey Begins: Life in Istanbul

Life has a way of guiding us to places we never expected to be. Our decision to move to Kaş wasn’t a sudden impulse—it was the outcome of five patient years, endless conversations, and a dream that refused to fade.

For years, my husband and I lived in the heart of Istanbul—immersed in its chaos, drained by its pace, yet quietly carrying the thought: “There’s another way to live.” At first, that vision was blurry, but over time, it began to take shape.

Discovering Kaş: A Summer Revelation

One summer afternoon, during a holiday in Kaş, we sat by the sea. The sunlight danced on the waves, and without hesitation, we looked at each other and said: “We could live here.”

That moment wasn’t the move itself—it was the day we gave our dream a name. Life’s timing, responsibilities, and uncertainties meant we had to wait. But the dream stayed, quietly growing in the background.

The Decision to Move: Waiting and Preparing

Then, just weeks before our baby was born, we decided it was time. When our son was only one month old, we left behind the city and began the journey south with all the belongings that marked the beginning of our new life.

New Beginnings: Moving with a Newborn

Moving with a newborn is far from easy—mentally, physically, and emotionally. Yet, despite the challenges, there was a warmth in knowing we had chosen this path.

Our first months in Kaş were a blend of sleepless nights, adjusting to a new rhythm, and rediscovering ourselves in the arms of nature. Days turned into months, and months into a life we had once only imagined.

Following a dream requires courage—but also patience, faith, and the bravery to listen to your heart. We listened. And now, as sunlight spills into our home and I watch my son playing beside me, one thought fills my heart: We are exactly where we are meant to be.
